Distance: 12km
Passo: Passo Campolongo (1,875m)After the transfer from Venice Marco Polo Airport we will set up the bikes and head out on a short welcome ride to introduce you to the Dolomites!
Our first climb of the week takes us up the Passo Campolongo (1,875m). This is a good opportunity to meet your fellow riders and recce the first climb of the Sella Ronda loop.
With a client to guide ratio of 6:1 we focus on riding in small groups with riders of a similar pace and we always regroup at the top of every climb. For the next three days this allows you to get used to climbing in the mountains and learn to pace your efforts evenly. Our support car carries extra nutrition, water and layers and is a welcome sight at the top of the climb. Just remember to smile at the camera on the way up!

After transferring to Venice Airport guests with evening flights may have time to loosen off the legs and learn about the beautiful city of Venice. You can store your bags securely at the airport and it’s quick and easy to take a return water taxi into Venice.
It is hard to believe, but there is more to life than just cycling. Flying in and out of Venice and not seeing the city would be a waste. We can advise on hotels so that you can extend your holiday and make some time to explore this most unique and beautiful of cities.
The Riding
Terrain: Mountainous
Difficulty: 3/5 Mountainous terrain – some days or events > 100km / day
Is this tour for you? Our cycling holidays are designed to be challenging alpine cycling adventures.
The Maratona dles Dolomites – Enel is one of the toughest cycling sportives in Europe, featuring climbs regularly used in the Giro d’Italia.
Our professional guiding and vehicle support as well as our route design, hotel selection and post ride massages are all aimed at creating a supportive environment that will get the best out of you as an individual. Within the group people will have different strengths and weaknesses, some will love hill climbing but might be slower on the flat sections where you might be stronger.
Clearly you need to be fit to get the most of the holiday and cycling in the Alps is much more rewarding when you see your pre-holiday training pay off as you climb Alpine cols and surpass your expectations.
Our aim is that you return from the dolomites fitter, happier and even more in love with cycling.

FAQ’s
Q: Does this package include guaranteed Maratona entry?
A: Yes. Your holiday includes guaranteed entry to the sold out Maratona dles Dolomites sportive. As an Official Maratona Tour Operator our guests benefit from starting in a priority starting grid ahead of riders who secured a place in the general ballot.
Q: I have a Maratona ballot place – can I still join the Brevet group?
A: Yes. We will give you a coupon code to reduce your holiday balance payment by the same amount as the Maratona entrance fee.
Q: I’d like to bring my non cycling partner – is that possible?
A: Yes. Non cycling partners are very welcome and where possible they can even follow the riders in the Brevet Team Car for one of our warm up rides to enjoy the spectacular scenery. If your partner likes the outdoors then there are plenty of things to do in Corvara.
To book your partners place simply select The same room occupancy as yourself and “Non Riding Guest”. This will add them to your cart.
Be sure you have selected your partner’s room as either “Standard” or “Superior” in line with your room choice.
Q: I’d like to come for the weekend only – is that possible?
A: No. There are a number of reasons we we offer a 6 night holiday for the Maratona.
We believe that your holiday time is precious. Getting away from the commitments of family, friends and work is important for our souls. Spending time riding in the mountains is the perfect antidote to our busy lifestyles.
But, the mountains are unpredictable. It’s not unknown for mountain passes to be blocked by snow in the middle of the summer and for sportives to be cancelled or badly effected by the weather. That’s why all our sportive holidays include warm up rides in the days leading up to the sportive so that you are guaranteed to get in some unforgettable rides in the mountains!
Finally, Maratona week is a true festival of cycling. Over 9,000 riders descend on the Dolomites and the atmosphere is unforgettable. The Maratona dles Dolomites – Enel is an extremely important event for the Alta Badia region and understandably the race organisers and hotels request that all Official Tour Operators offer a minimum stay of 4 nights.
So … re-work that schedule and give you and your bike the holiday you deserve!
Q: How do I get to and from Corvara?
A: Included in your holiday is a minibus transfer from Venice Marco Polo Airport at lunchtime Tuesday 30th June. The return to the airport is on Monday 6th July leaving the hotel at 0900. Please be sure you arrange your flights to meet these dates and times. Ensure your flight out of Venice leaves no earlier than 1400 to allow for traffic and time to check in. If you can not find flights to meet the specified Transfer Window, arriving a day early and staying at an airport hotel or a hotel near the main train station is a popular choice with many of our guests. You can then join the included airport transfer the next day.
You can also drive to Corvara from many parts of mainland Europe. Unfortunately Corvara is not served by train.
