Deposits and Payments

  • In order to confirm your tour, Borne Cycling must receive your deposit in full.

  • For most tours, the deposit fee required is CHF 500 per participant.

  • The balance of the trip cost is due 90 days before the tour starts.

  • If payment is not paid when due, Borne Cycling reserves the right to treat the reservation as annuled.

Trip Cancellation insurance

We highly recommend that all participants take out comprehensive trip cancellation insurance. Unexpected events can occur, including injuries to our guests as they prepare for their trip, sickness, epidemics/pandemics and changes in employment situation. Please take out trip cancellation insurance at the time your trip deposit is paid.

Cancellation Policy

If for any reason you need to cancel your trip, a penalty is payable as shown below (calculation is in calendar days):

  • 180+ days: full refund

  • 91-180 days: 10% of the trip price

  • 61 – 90 days: 30% of the trip price

  • 31 – 60 days: 60% of the trip price

  • 0 – 30 days: 100% of trip price

*In the case of Private / Custom tours and Tour de France tours the trip deposit is non-refundable.

Health and accident insurance

All of our participants must have comprehensive medical insurance, covering health, accidents and evacuation events. It is your responsibility to ensure you have this insurance in place before you travel.

Changes to the tour itinerary

We strive to bring you the highest standards of quality. Sometimes this means modifications may be made to your trip. Naturally, we will notify you of any changes that may affect your arrival, departure or lodging.

Liability Waiver

1. Acknowledgement of Risk

I acknowledge that participation in a road cycling holiday organised by [Company Name] (“the Company”) involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • Accidents, collisions, or falls while cycling;

  • Weather changes, road surface conditions, and natural hazards;

  • Traffic and interaction with vehicles or pedestrians;

  • Equipment failure or mechanical issues;

  • Physical exertion, dehydration, illness, or injury;

  • Risks related to travel in mountainous or unfamiliar regions.

I understand that these risks cannot be entirely eliminated, even with appropriate care and supervision, and I voluntarily accept all such risks.

2. Participant Responsibilities

I confirm that:

  • I am in good physical and mental health and capable of participating in the trip’s activities.

  • I will comply with all Swiss road traffic regulations, safety instructions, and guidance provided by the Company’s staff.

  • I will wear a certified cycling helmet and appropriate protective equipment at all times while cycling.

  • My bicycle and equipment are in safe working condition.

  • I have informed the Company of any relevant medical conditions, medications, or allergies that may affect my participation.

3. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted under Swiss law, I hereby waive and release the Company, its owners, employees, guides, agents, and contractors from any liability for loss, damage, injury, or death arising from participation in any cycling activity organised by the Company, whether caused by ordinary negligence or otherwise.

This waiver does not exclude or limit liability of the Company or its representatives for:

  • Intentional wrongdoing or gross negligence (Art. 100 Swiss Code of Obligations);

  • Personal injury or death caused by such negligence; or

  • Any mandatory liability under applicable Swiss law (e.g., under the Swiss Product Liability Act).

4. Insurance

I confirm that I have obtained adequate personal insurance covering:

  • Medical expenses and emergency evacuation;

  • Personal accident and liability related to cycling activities; and

  • Repatriation in the event of serious injury or death.

I understand that the Company’s insurance does not cover personal loss, injury, or damage to equipment unless explicitly stated in writing.

5. Image and Media Consent (Optional)

I consent to the use of photographs or video recordings taken during the trip by the Company for promotional or marketing purposes.

6. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Swiss law.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Geneva, Switzerland.
